Our Story
Fleur and Viktor met for the first time in late July 2020, thanks to a little dating app called Hinge, after having spent a few weeks writing essay-long texts to each other.
The world was a different place back then, and their second date was funded by Rishi during the government's Eat Out to Help Out programme. Their very first date however, involved a jug of Pimm's and a jar of pickled herring, but that is a story for another time...
In the beginning of 2021, Viktor moved in at Arthur Road in Islington, where Fleur had prepared a little scavanger hunt to welcome him. All around the flat were Swedish treats for Viktor to find as he unpacked his things. Fleur has since then also started to learn Swedish, and has well over a thousand consecutive days on the Duolingo language app. She now knows how to say both 'good morning' and 'good night'.
Almost four years on and there have been plenty of adventures, on several different continents. A lot of the adventures on British soil have for some odd reason involved fancy dress. Viktor has already dressed up as a bunny, a lobster, a viking, a tudor, a Tour de France cyclist, a safari park ranger, Spider-Man, and Captain America...
It's safe to say that Viktor has embraced the 'Howard-Griffin madness', and has made it into the circle of trust.
Viktor proposed in Lisbon at the Miradouro da Senhora do Monte on 26th May and Fleur of course said 'yes'.

The Wedding
Our wedding will take place at stunning Butley Priory, an enchanting historic wedding venue deep in the Suffolk countryside. Located about two hours from London, it's close to the coast and surrounded by ancient woodland.
Butley Priory is the only building that remains intact of the Augustinian Priory, founded in 1171. It was built under William de Greystone, who was the prior from 1311 to 1322, so is now 700 years old.
Whilst our ceremony will be held outdoors
(weather permitting), the wedding breakfast and dancing will take place in the historic Great Hall. Fun fact - The Arctic Monkeys recorded parts of their latest album 'The Car' here!
For our summer wedding, we suggest that men wear
a lightweight suit in any colour,
and women wear a cocktail dress or pantsuit.
The ceremony will start at 1 o'clock so we recommend that guests show up no later than 12.30pm. Drinks reception, wedding breakfast and lots of dancing to follow.
Carriages at midnight.
As much as we love your wonderful children, we have decided to only invite family children. Enjoy a night off!

Dr Julia and Dr Richard Howard-Griffin will be hosting a casual lunch from 12pm to 3pm on Sunday 25th August at
the Farmhouse on the Butley Priory estate.
All guests are invited to join. When you RSVP, please let us know if you plan to attend Sunday as well.
